When being creative the editor and the critic can often get in the way of the creator. Bracket them off in time chunks.
- During the raw generation phase of creativity, banish the editor and critic to a later time.
- One there is a brainstorming list or a draft of a project that is ready for critical or editorial viewing, then, and only then, welcome the editor in to help polish it.
- Once the editor has finished polishing, let the critic have a turn. This is the time to let the critic run rampant. Better your own critic than someone else's once it is public!
